BREEDING CARE
The health and well-being of our Danes is our highest priority. Our puppies are placed in carefully selected homes, and all buyers are required to sign a breeder agreement to ensure the long-term welfare of each dog. We provide thorough guidance on proper care and set clear expectations so new families are fully informed about the responsibilities of Great Dane ownership.
We are committed to ongoing support. Karsten Danes is always available to answer questions at the time of placement and throughout the lifetime of the dog. We also require that any Karsten Danes dog be returned to us if an owner is ever unable to keep it, ensuring lifelong accountability for every puppy we produce.
Litter confirmation is completed using a professional sonar service approximately six weeks after a confirmed breeding. This allows us to assess the health of the dam and puppies, estimate litter size, and confirm the expected due date—an exciting milestone as we see the puppies and hear their heartbeats for the first time.
Litter announcements are shared via our Facebook page and website, and all families on the Karsten Danes waiting list are contacted directly. Once a puppy is selected, a non-refundable deposit is required, with the remaining balance due prior to collection or travel arrangements.
Karsten Danes is committed to quality over quantity, producing approximately two to three litters per year. This allows us to focus on the health, structure, and temperament of our Danes, while ensuring each puppy is placed in a carefully considered, permanent home.
We are proud to breed Great Danes with exceptional temperaments. From an early age, our puppies receive intentional socialization and exposure to a variety of age-appropriate stimuli, supporting confidence, adaptability, and emotional stability as they transition to their new families.
